Metrum has been selected as partner in the new Vinnova financed project “VISA 5G” together with global leading companies as Hitachi Energy, IETV, Ericsson AB, Telia and Luleå Technical University (LTU).
The VISA 5G-project will evaluate and demonstrate Vendor Independent Substation Automation over 5G (VISA/5G) in two scenarios: the LTU 5G testbed and edge computing cluster, and a real Vattenfall (DSO) substation.
Metrum will deliver measurement system and PQX3-instruments to be installed for the demonstrator in Vattenfall (DSO) transformer station and also participate as competence partner for evaluation and tests related to how 5G can be used for future station supervision and automation.
