Metrum’s power quality measurement system PQ Controller DB and various measuring instrument models (both fixed and portable) have been used for many years by Göteborg Energi Nät for continuous control and monitoring of its electricity grid. The system complements the control center’s SCADA system and provides valuable measurement data that can be used both for mapping energy, power quality and disturbances in the various parts of the electricity network as well as for improved network planning and predictive maintenance.
Göteborg Energi Nät has recently chosen Metrum’s latest PQX3-M instruments for upgrade and installation in its substations and continuous monitoring of its 130/10 KV network. The new instruments enable both standard voltage quality analysis (EIFS 2023:3, Class A) as well as disturbance detection & preventive analysis of e.g. intermittent faults, helping to minimize downtime and ensure high reliability.
Metrum’s CEO, Robert Olofsson “We are very grateful and happy that Göteborg Energi Nät chooses to expand Metrum’s measurement system for its continued power quality monitoring of Gothenburg’s electricity network and hope for a continued positive and rewarding cooperation”.
Results of the collaboration
-
Basis for predictive maintenance work
-
Greater opportunity to identify potential problems
-
Monitor key feeders for system disturbances and faults both upstream and downstream of the recorder
