Metrum recently supplied a number of PQX3-FR instruments to Vattenfall’s test facility in Älvkarleby and is now further developing the power-quality instrument protocol (OPC-UA) for data streaming and evaluation of future 5G solutions in the area of station control.

Metrum is already a partner in Vinnova’s VISA 5G project, led by LTU. The project includes several leading companies (Ericsson, Vattenfall, Hitachi Energy and others), which are jointly looking into future options for substation automation via 5G communication.
