In a Vinnova-funded project run by RISE, Metrum has been commissioned to provide an instrumentation system for calibrating power-quality meters for supraharmonics. The new PQX3 series will be used for evaluation and analysis.

Harmonics (disturbances in the frequency range up to 2 kHz) have been known for a long time and are well researched. On the other hand, so-called supraharmonics, (disturbances in the frequency range 2 to 150 kHz) are a relatively new power-quality parameter.

At the National Metrology Laboratory for power and Energy at RISE, knowledge and methods for other measurements in the frequency range in question already exist. Accordingly the measurement of supraharmonics will be a natural continuation of the expertise and capability of the National Metrology Laboratory (NMI).
