Metrum certified according to new product standard

As one of the first companies in the world, Metrum – world leader in research and development for energy and power quality – recently certified its new instrument platform PQX3 and its latest instrument model PQX3-FR according to the new product standard IEC 62586. The standard makes it easier for users to choose the right type of measurement instruments, and many international utility companies already have the new product standard as a mandatory requirement in their tender specifications.

European Pattern Recognition project – making good progress

The EPR project, introducing artificial intelligence through pattern recognition into the power quality arena is now starting to come up with real solutions. Look at the project video here!

Breakthrough in Metrum’s R&D projects: AI predicts voltage changes and power demand in the grid

European Pattern Recognition (EPR) is a research and development project funded by the EU and the Swedish Energy Agency, with Metrum leading the project. One part of the project is based on the development of software applications for trend analysis, where AI (artificial intelligence) and pattern recognition are used to predict what will happen in energy grids and to detect discrepancies and errors at an early stage. And there has now been a breakthrough.

“We’re very excited and pleased to be able to say that we have achieved a breakthrough in our project,” says Metrum CTO Robert Olofsson.

Math Bollen visit Metrum at Chalmers University Power Conference 2017

World-known power quality expert and Professor Math Bollen visit Metrum at the Chalmers University Power Conference 2017. Metrum continue to work close with Chalmers University, University of Borås, Luleå University and with Professor Math Bollen in many areas, including AI and pattern recognition and other studies. Metrum continue to lead the power quality subject globally, both with existing products and solutions as well as with its R&D.

New PQX3-FR Power Quality Fault Recording instrument released

The new instruments provides higher sampling frequency, measurement in higher-frequency ranges, measurement of new parameters and a wide range of in- and outputs that can be used for combined solutions including Power Quality, Energy, Fault Recorder and Phasor Measurements – all integrated in one device.
The first released PQ-instrument based on the new instrument platform is Metrum PQX3-FR. The product is designed as a 19” rack model and combines Class A Power Quality measurements with Fault Recorder features that maximizes the benefits of the installed instrument.
